We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior SEO Manager to join our passionate and innovative team here at Inside Online.

Job Description: Senior SEO Manager with strong technical ability

As the  senior SEO manager you will be expected to take the lead with technical and on-site SEO work and support clients through implementation. You will also be expected to lead the other members of your team and supervise work delivered.

It is integral to the role to keep up to date with the latest best practice and also innovate with new processes and ideas to gain better visibility for clients.

You will not only be liaising closely with account managers and client development teams, but also with departments within the business to help SEO develop other deliverables e.g. content production and pre-sales.

You will be working with clients from a wide breadth of industries from “Beds” to “Pet Medicine”. We have a constantly expanding client portfolio and focus on a new industries all the time.

The role is more than just Technical SEO, Inside Online would like the candidate to be strong in that area as they will be leading the department and be expected to support others with SEO queries.

To give a better description of the role, when a client first comes on board you will be expected to complete an in depth technical audit and support the client through implementation to ensure they understand what is recommended. Inside Online do encourage the candidate to also put in conversion rate optimization examples and insight from Google analytics in to the documents also. Other standard elements of the role would be link/penalty analysis, Google my business review and optimization, competitor research, opportunity analysis, content auditing, keyword research, analytical insight and investigation, pre-sales audits and recommendations for new potential clients and log file analysis etc. Which they have standard processes for already but the candidate is free to adapt and improve them.

In this position, as the leader of the team you will be able to own the role and be encouraged to recommend the strategy they feel benefits the client. As a fairly un-bureaucratic company it is easy for you to put across new processes and strategy ideas but also get new tools you require (within reason). Inside Online are very technology lead and have access to a lot of tools and have trialled hundreds more. A list of some of the tools Inside Online currently have accounts with;

You will be encouraged to collaborate with the content production, sales (Add SEO insight to help the sales guys) and paid search teams to help not only deliver better insights in to the SEO product but also support other areas of the business deliver a more SEO optimized product. Inside Online foster a learning environment where the you will be expected to pass knowledge on to others but also will have the opportunity to work with individuals from varied expertise and backgrounds to learn new skills. The directors themselves work amongst everybody else and have over 10 years’ experience in the industry and background working and building teams in respected agencies. There will also be opportunity to attend industry events and conferences.

They have regular whole company meetings where we like to get everyone together to encourage cross department collaboration, so everyone has a wider involvement.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

A technical SEO expert with an interest in being an innovator in SEO. You will have knowledge of HTML and a good understanding of the code behind a range of common website platforms. You will be expected to understand a wide range of best practice implementations in everything from canonical tags to schema mark-up and implementing search friendly navigation.

You will be equally at home analysing data in spreadsheets or Analytics packages and checking through source code for best practice and suggest site structural changes based on good authority flow and keyword research.

It is likely your background will combine experience of both web development and SEO or online marketing.

Required Skills:

  • Strong interest in digital marketing
  • Excellent problem solving and data analysing skills
  • Advanced knowledge of SEO onsite best practice
  • Ability to understand HTML code
  • Understand the basics of HTML/CSS/Javascript and their role in web development
  • Medium to Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Medium to Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of eCommerce/CMS platforms such as WordPress, Magento etc.

The Package:

On offer is a competitive salary based on experience in the range of £35,000, flexible working hours and an above average allocation of paid annual leave (25 days).
